About Marrakech Morocco

The city is home to plenty of mosques, palaces and gardens. The two distinct areas the city broken up into are – the Old City (“Medina”) and the Modern City. Marrakech, widely referred to as the ‘Red City’,  is a true “year round” destination, whatever the season the city is a magical place to visit. Winter usually bright and crisp. The national dish is couscous which usually comes with fish, meat or veggies. If you fancy a tea, you must try their sweet mint tea, which is their national drink. Moroccan cuisine is strong on spices and flavours. It captures the interaction between many cultures over the centuries

Things to do

  • obviously, Jemaa el-Fna – the market place which is ten times busier than Piccadilly Circus at rush hour. (don’t forget to haggle)
  • hop on a “caleche” – are you tired? tip: horse-drawn carriage
  • visiting the Royal Gardens – a cloak of green region around the city
  • Rue de Yougoslavie – OMG they’re serving Moroccan PANCAKE
  • ballon flight at sunrise – a good way to start the day  – Maroc Montgolofiere (you’ll be treated with breakfast)
  • Bahia Palace – if you’re keen on architecture
  • Maison de la photographie – if you are fond of photography
